Overview


The Commander HSK is a compact and easy to use variable speed drive. The drive has many standard features including energy optimization ideally suited for HVAC applications.

The Commander HSK is a result of our award winning drive technologies. Drive installation, set up and monitoring are simple and easy.

Easy to Specify

The Commander HSK is manufactured under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, and is approved for use by UL, cUL, CE, and C. Models are available in 208–230V, 460V, 575V and 690V with power ranges to 200hp; UL Type 1.

Energy Savings Estimator

Calculates cost savings using variable speed drives in fan and pump applications. The main features are:

  • Estimation of energy usage using variable frequency drives for fan and pump applications
  • Comparison of energy consumption between variable frequency drives and conventional control methods
  • Display of energy cost, savings and payback data
  • Graphical representation of flow vs cost, hours and time
  • Customised client report facility including view, print, e-mail and file export functions
  • Built in engineering calculator for horse power, torque, AC motors, Ohm's Law and AC power circuit calculations

Harmonics Calculator

Provides harmonic analysis of drive systems including comparison with the limits required by the IEEE519-1992 standard for power quality.

Options

Programming and Configuration Options

SmartStick

This option enables the simple set up of parameters in a variety of ways. The SmartStick can:

  • ‘Clone’ a complete set of parameters from the first drive to multiple drives (ideal for serial production)
  • Download parameter settings to the drive to easily set up your application
  • Automatically save the user parameter set up for storage and maintenance purposes
  • Load complete motor map parameters


The drive only communicates with the SmartStick when commanded to read or write, meaning that it may be “hot swapped”.

I/O Options

Solution Modules for Flexibility

The Commander HSK sizes B and above can accept one Solution Module to tailor special communication and I/O requirements. The main I/O options are listed below.

SM-I/O Lite

This module provides expanded digital and analog I/O for the Commander HSK.

  • 1 Analog Input (11-bit plus sign, ±10V, 4-20mA, or 0-20mA)
  • 1 Analog Output (13-bit, 0-10V, 4-20mA, or 0-20mA)
  • 3 Digital Inputs
  • 1 Relay (2A @ 240VAC, 4A @ 30VDC)
SM-I/O Lite - Control Techniques Solution Module

SM-I/O 120V

This module provides digital I/O rated for 120 or 240VAC for the Commander HSK, and conforms to the IEC 61131-2 standard.

  • 6 Digital Inputs (120VAC or 3 Digital Inputs @ 240VAC)
  • 2 Relays (2A @ 240VAC,4A @ 30VDC)
